Guwahati, September 18: On Thursday, at a press conference held at Hotel Grand Majestic in the city, the poster of the new Assamese feature film Life Behind the Life (Jeevonor Aror Jeevon) was officially launched. Noted filmmaker Anupam K. Bordoloi, who has earlier directed several short films, music videos, and edited many Assamese films and serials, is making his debut as a full-length feature film director with this project. His film Life Behind the Life has already won awards for “Best Debut Director” and “Best Screenplay” at the Mokkho International Film Festival, and has now been selected for the final competition at the Cannes World International Film Festival. Furthermore, the film has been submitted to nearly 38 international film festivals across India and abroad, informed director Anupam K. Bordoloi at the press meet.
Amid the success of the film, audiences on social media have expressed growing excitement and eagerness to watch it in theatres. Speaking on the occasion, producer Mahesh Rajbanshi announced that the film will be released in cinemas very soon.
The press meet on Thursday was graced by senior advocate of Gauhati High Court and eminent filmmaker Dr. Jonmoni Devi Khound, National and noted actors Ashim Sharma and Satyen Sharma, who jointly unveiled the film’s poster and delivered congratulatory remarks.

Produced under the banner of Bhabaranjani Productions by Mahesh Rajbanshi and directed by Anupam K. Bordoloi, the film’s story and screenplay are written by acclaimed dramatist Ratul Phukan, who is also the associate director. The narrative of the film is based on Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID)—a psychological condition in which a person develops multiple distinct identities or thought patterns, often beyond their control, leading to loss of self-recognition and behavioral stability.
The lead role is portrayed by National School of Drama graduate Prowyash Phukan, while the female lead is played by the talented actress Adrita Parashah Mahanta. Other cast members include Simmi Goswami, Ashim Sharma, Hariprasad Barthakur, Amar Sharma, Ratul Phukan, Nijmoni Bora, Sunil Kumar Das, Partha Pratim Bordoloi, Nikita Bora (child artist), Monu Bora, Dulon Bahek, Manjit Sharma, Pradip Hazarika, Ratneswar Morang, along with several senior and young actors.
The film’s editing, DI, and graphics have been done by director Anupam K. Bordoloi himself. Music has been composed by Tarali Sarma, with lyrics written by producer Mahesh Rajbanshi. The two melodious songs, sung by renowned singer Zubeen Garg and Tarali Sarma, are set to the soulful tunes of Nibir Jyoti Kalita. Sound design has been crafted by Loukik Khound, while make-up has been handled by Teebro Jyoti Bairagi. Cinematography has been done across various locations in Assam by Sanjay Singh from Mumbai.
